Annotation -
The aim of the course is to develop all language skills, with a special focus on the field of professional language and its specifics. The topics cover the academia, chemistry and other natural sciences, and work in the laboratory.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to :

  • Work with the language using appropriate vocabulary, grammar and stylistics
  • Process information provided or given in written and spoken forms, interpret the information and respond in writing or speaking
  • Take part in a professional discussion, express and argue their opinions
  • Write a summary of an article on a topic related to the student´s field of study

In order to complete the course, students must acquire 50 points out of a total of 70 points. The points are awarded for passing the end-of-term test (max. 50 pts), presenting a summary of a scientific text (max. 3 pts), working actively in lessons (max. 10 pts) and doing assigned homework (max. 7 pts).
