The course is aimed at acquainting students with the field of cognitive and social psychology, cognitive ergonomics and the relationship between various aspects of human-machine interaction in the context of the environment in which they interact. On the basis of psychological theories based on classical knowledge and current neuropsychological and cognitive-psychological research and experiments, students will gain insight into the study of the human psyche, issues of mental processes such as perception, thinking, imagination and intelligence, and the possibility of imitating them.

Students will be able to orient themselves in the basic concepts of social and cognitive psychology and psychological and cognitive ergonomics.

They will understand the psychological aspects of interaction at the level of man-machine, man-environment, and man-machine-environment.

1. Subject of study, basic paradigms, behaviorism, gestaltism, cognitive psychology, current state and possibilities of application of psychology in practice

2. Sensation and perception, types, sensory deprivation - perceptual stability, perception of depth, perception of shapes and principles of gestalt psychology, theory of perception from top to bottom and from bottom to top, computational theory of perception, perception disorders

3. Visual attention, auditory, factors influencing attention - preconscious and conscious processing, habituation and sensitization, signal detection, selective attention, filter theory, Posner's theory, Marcel's model, attention disorders

4. Memory - memory models, sensory, short-term and long-term memory, connectionist models, memory processes (coding, transfer from short-term memory, methods of processing, theory of forgetting), memory disorders

5. Intelligence - cognitive development, factors influencing cognitive development, Piaget's theory, disorders of cognitive development

6. Imagination and creativity - mental ideas, theory of dual coding, mental manipulation and rotation, viewing ideas, mental models, cognitive maps, semantic networks, cognitive schemes
