The course presents the development, validation and application of chemical engineering models simulating processes in glass melting. Models include melt flow simulation in real neizotermním space redox balance of ingredients and melt behavior of solid particles and bubbles in the melt. Using the model aims to describe the melting of existing glass melting furnaces and proposed new arrangement of melting spaces with high utilization and energy efficiency.

Students will be able to:

  • apply the concepts of the mechanisms and kinetics of physical and chemical phenomena on the description of the glass melting process
  • specify models of homogenization melting processes
  • evaluate the utilization of the melting space and energy efficiency of the melting process
