The course focuses on developing of knowledge of the causes and ways of damaging of historic buildings materials - natural and artificial - and the methods and procedures of their treatment.

Studenti budou umět popsat principy poškozování anorganických stavebních materiálů památkových objektů (přírodních i uměle vyráběných), mechanizmy jednotlivých typů jejich koroze a degradace a způsoby jejich poznání. Budou schopni navrhnout postupy a prostředky jejich čistění, konsolidace a povrchové úpravy a postupy a materiály pro tmely, doplňky a kopie artefaktů architektury nebo uměleckých či řemeslných památek.
