The aim of this subject is to give students a general view of methods employed in hydrometallurgical treatment of raw materials and wastes. The methods of mechanical separation of heterogeneous mixtures, physical and chemical enrichment of raw materials and the most important unit separations used in hydrometallurgy are included. Emphasis is given to the physicochemical principles of these methods as well as to their practical applications.

Students will be able to:

describe the basic separation processes used for treatment of raw materials

discuss techniques of basic raw materials treatment for industial inorganic technologies

interpret data from chemical and structural analysis of raw materials
