The content of this subject is focused on the introduction of fundamentals of the structure of metallic materials and lattice defects. There is given the description of individual lattice defects and their behavior in materials and there are shown the consequences of existence of individual defects on the properties of metals and alloys.

Describe the mechanisms of metallic materials' deformation.

Describe the mechanisms of the fatigue and creep.

Describe the processes connected with recovery and recrystallization of metals.
