1. Definition of corrosion. Goals of corrosion science and corrosion engineering. Uniform corrosion.

2. Thermodynamics and kinetics of corrosion processes.

3. Corrosion by galvanic and concentration cells.

4. Pitting and crevice corrosion.

5. Environmentally assisted cracking.

6. Other irregular forms of corrosion degradation (hydrogen induced, intergranular, selective and erosion corrosion, cavitation, fretting).

7. Atmospheric corrosion.

8. Corrosion in aqueous environments (water, soil, industrial electrolytes, concrete and other specific environments).

9. Corrosion in gases at high temperatures.

10. Corrosion performance of materials I (steel, stainless steel).

11. Corrosion performance of materials II (aluminium, copper, magnesium, titanium, special alloys, non-metallic materials).

12. Principles of corrosion protection.

13. Corrosion testing.

14. Corrosion monitoring.
