The subject deals with the preventive conservation (preventive care) of artefacts collection. Students will be acquainted with selected materials and causes of their decay, with appropriate conditions for their long-term storage and ways to achieve them, the issue of exhibiting, protection against theft and fire, as well as the principles of disaster planning.

  • use basic information about preventive care for cultural heritage objects that are stored in museums, galleries, libraries and archives
  • apply the acquired knowledge of principles of preventive conservation principles in practice

3. Recommended climatic conditions in the repositories.

4. Monitoring of climatic parameters in the repositories.

5. Methods of of regulating climate parameters in the repositories.

6. Gaseous pollutants, monitoring and protection against them.

7. Dust and aerosols and protection against them.

8. Exhibiting the collection.

9. Protection of collection items against theft.

10.Protection of collection items before the fire.

11.Disaster planning.

12.Causes of biological and microbiological damage.

13.Disinfection, disinfestation and rodent control.

14.Monitoring the effectiveness of the prevention of biological damage.

Předmět je zakončen písemnou zkouškou (60 minutovým testem). Podmínkou pro získání známky je úspěšné absolvování tohoto testu.

Studenti se na zkoušku přihlašují přes SIS.

Studentovi, který není v SISu zapsán, nebude umožněno zkoušku vykonat.

Student, který se ze SISu neodhlásí a na zkoušku se nedostaví, obdrží známku "F". Na mailové a telefonické omluvy nebude brán zřetel.
