The course consists of laboratory tasks, which are focused on fundamental analysis of crude oil, crude oil fractions and selected alternative fuels.
1. Determination of water in crude oils. 2. Determination of sulfur in crude oil fractions. 3. Rectification of two-component mixtures, calculation of efficiency. 4. Preparative group-type analysis of crude oil fractions. 5. Processing of experimental data during the testing of oxidation stability of methylester of rapeseed oil. 6. Determination of bio-components in fuels by FTIR 7. Assesment of asphalts. 8. Reological properties of crude oil fractions. 9. Determination of total acid number of crude oil fractions. 10. Vapor pressure of gasolines. 11. Viscosity index. 12. Determination of group-type composition of asphalts by thin-layer chromatography with a FID detection. |

The condition for completion of the course is the successful completion of all prescribed laboratory works. The overall mark is obtained as the arithmetic mean of the marks for each laboratory work. In the assessment of each laboratory work, following criteria are taken into account: the student's initial knowledge of the theoretical background of the work and work procedure verified by an initial examination, own work and the quality of the laboratory protocol. |
