The goal of the subject is to inform students about advanced computation methods of mass and enthalpy balance during gas fuels combustion. The overview of oxidation mechanisms of fuels and pollutants formation is given too. The basic types of gas combustion devices are given. The attention is also paid to combustion of liquid and gaseous fuels in combustion engines, influence of fuel properties on engine operation and exhaust emissions. Exhaust gas after treatment devices for combustion engines are described as well as utilization of alternative motor fuels.

The condition of successful completion of the course is to obtain a credit and to pass a written and oral examination. The credit is awarded on the basis of the result of the credit test, it must not be evaluated by F. The written and oral part of the exam may not be evaluated by F. In order to determine the final mark, the assessment of the written part and the oral part of the examination shall be given the same weight. Last update: Tekáč Viktor (29.01.2018)
