Annotation -
Water supply and sewerage systems are part of the water management technical equipment, which together with product pipelines, transport, energy or telecommunications networks form the technical infrastructure ensuring the smooth operation of municipalities and the state. The course provides basic knowledge in the field of drinking water supply from public water supply systems, wastewater transport and operation and maintenance of these networks.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • be aware of the legislative provisions relating to water transport
  • calculate the yield of a well
  • determine the water demand and design a water reservoir
  • basic hydraulic calculations of a water supply network
  • recognise the materials, objects and equipment of distribution and sewerage networks
  • assess the suitability of materials used for the construction of water supply systems and design appropriate anti-corrosion measures
  • the principles of construction, operation and maintenance of water supply and sewerage networks
Last update: Šmejkalová Pavla (08.06.2023)
Course completion requirements -

successful passing a written exam (min. 51 %)

possibility of improving grades B - E:

  • by an exam in the remedial term
  • by prior agreement, because SIS allows registration for the next term only with an F result
  • with this procedure, there is no risk of deterioration of the grade
  • only the last grade (regardless of the number of attempts) is counted towards the academic average
