Annotation -
The course reflects modern trends applied in the decontamination process and waste treatment, students are practically informed about selected technologies used to waste streams processing and pollutants removal from contaminated matrices and about analysis leading to the determination of the related materials and substances. Students learn the analytical procedures for gaseous, liquid and solid materials and acquire a number of instrumental analytical methods.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

apply theoretical knowledge to practical work; put into operation a model apparatus for simulating the process; optimize the proces and set the correct process conditions/requirements ; monitor the target variables.

In terms of analysis students will be able to:

perform analysis using UV/VIS spectrophotometer, atomic absorption spectrometer, carbon analyzer, capillary electrophoresis, gas chromatography; know how to manipulate with the collected samples; perform various types of sample pre-treatment.
