Účelem předmětu je připravit budoucí bioanalytiky pro práci v laboratořích v oborech: mikrobiologie, imunologie a alergologie ve zdravotnicví, veterinární medicíně, potravinářství a v oborech ochrany životního prostředí , a seznámit je s technikami užívanými v laboratorní praxi těchto oborů.

Aim of the course - Czech

Studenti pro absolvování praktika budou znát principy diagnostických technik v bakteriologii, virologii, mykologii, parazitologii, imunologii a alergologii. Cílem je připravit studenty pro práci ve zdravotnických , veterinárních a potravinářských laboratoří a laboratoří pro ochranu životního prostředí pro pozici bioanalytika.

Syllabus -

1. Sampling and sample maintenance in the pre-analytical phase according to Good Laboratory Practice

2. Direct detection of infectious agent – techniques: microscopy, cultivation-based methods, antigen detection, proteomic profiling and specific genomic DNA sequence detection.

3. Indirect detection of infectious agents by antibodies in anti-infection immunity.

4. Detection techniques to test individual components of cellular and humoral immunity

5. Principles of detection of diagnostic markers of antiinfection and anticancer immunity and autoimmunity.

6. Immune system disorders and their diagnostics.

7. Automation of laboratory diagnostics in microbiology and immunology – options and opportunities.

8. Interdisciplinary laboratory diagnostics, e.g., antimicrobial therapy monitoring, infection type markers

9. Quantitative assays in microbiology, combination of direct and indirect diagnostics, monitoring of microbial load, collaboration with epidemiology experts.

10. Laboratory safety, biohazard safety and specificity of laboratory safety in clinical microbiology laboratory (obligatory reporting of selected infections, specificity of work with tissue and organ donors, protected health information).
