Annotation -
The subject consists of 3 areas of legal problems. The first onedeals with basic concepts of contract law (obligations). The second one deals with basic types of contracts and most frequent civil and commercial contracts.The third one includes selected labor law contracts, intellectual property contracts and international commercial contracts. Lectures reflect also new legislation under the new Civil Code No. 89/2012 Coll.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able, after completing this course, to understand the basic legal concepts and procedures. They will be able to work independently easier legal administration and legal contracts in the fields of law lectures.

1) Introduction to Intellectual Property Law (overview, basic terms and fields)

2) Trademarks I. (concept of trademark, indication of origin, geographical origin, trademark application and proceedings)

3) Trademarks II. (Industrial Propery Office, basic administrative charges (official fees), term of validity of the trademark, International trademark registration)

4) Patent Law I. (patent and invention - concept, utility models and industrial designs - concepts, preparation of the patent application)

5) Patent Law II. (patent grant proceedings, registration proceeding of utility models and industrial designs before the Czech Industrial Property Office, basic administrative charges (official fees)

6) Patent Law III. (international patent PCT)

7) Know-how, goodwill, information and data and their protection (concept of Know-how, segments, business and trade secrets, goodwill, data and information)

8) Business with Intellectual Property I. (license - concept, license agreements and their types)

9) Business with Intellectual Property II. (license fees and related agreements/ Secrecy Agreement, Option Agreement etc.)

10) Copyright I. (copyright and object of copyright law, establishment and content of Copyright / personal and proprietary components, protection of copyright)

11) Copyright II. (license agreements, literary works and audiovisual works, further rights related to copyright)
