The aim of this subject is to introduce the basic mechanical properties of metals, explaining the relationship between the mechanical properties and the microstructure, the fracture mechanisms. Methods of study of metals are described.
Aim of the course -
Last update: TAJ106 (16.08.2013)

Students will be able to:

evaluate the mechanical properies of metallic materials.

decide about the use of alloys based on the loading conditions.

prevent cracks of materials in engineering practice.
