Annotation -
The course topic represents an extension of the lectures on Chemical Kinetics and Reactor Engineering and on Technical Catalysis. The course is focused on chemical reactors for reactions between partially miscible fluids and for reactions accelerated using heterogeneous catalysts. The attention is also paid to the role of mass and heat transport in reaction systems with heterogeneous catalysts. Multiphase reactors, such as batch autoclaves, bubble column reactors, trickle-bed reactors and basic types of bio-reactors, are discussed.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

1. Analyse basic processes in multi-phase chemical reactors.

2. Resolve the problems dealing with the catalytic processes related to heat and mass transport.

3. Design multi-phase chemical reactors.
