Students will learn about several areas in the course of Clinical Biochemistry. The first section will explain the main methodological approaches used human diagnostics. The second part of the lectures focuses on the target analyzed molecules, which are used in the current medicine according to the function of these molecules - such as enzymes, fats, hormones, etc. For each category the function and the use for diagnostics will be explained. The last part of the study focuses on the diagnostics of liver, kidney, and the diagnosis of the internal environment of the organism, including acid-base balance.
Aim of the course -
Last update: Krausová Martina doc. Ing. Ph.D. (12.08.2013)

Students will know:

the importance of basic molecules in human diagnostics

laboratory methods and instrumental methods for the analysis of these molecules

function and basic pathological processes of major organs and their reflection in the levels of biomarkers
