The laboratory training is focused on acquiring praxis in analytical laboratory. Students learn how to work in a clean, accurate and correct way. The spectrum of methods includes chemical analysis (1-2 works), electrochemical (2-3), spectrophotometric (2) and separation (1) methods. The Laboratory is followed by Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry II.
Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

do basic laboratory analytical operations

manipulate with different types of electrodes

work with spectrophotometer and liquid chromatograph

evaluate the results of the measurements

The every laboratory starts with 5-minute 6-question test, to prove that student read the manual and is able to work safely and purposefully. The 3 questions need to be answered correctly to be allowed to work. If not, the test is classified F. Every work is classified after delivering of report or not classified if report is not delivered or delivered late. If the report was delivered in time and was not classified, the protocol needs to be corrected, in such case contact your teaching assistant. The overall classification is the arithmetic average off all marks, including all F for unsuccessful tests. To obtain final mark, all practices need to be passed with maximum two F.
