Annotation -
The subject is focused on technologies of drug formulation. Particular dosage forms are presented from two different points of views: the physico-chemical one and the organism-drug interactions one. Among others, issues concerning selection of appropriate excipients, drug formulation, quality and stability of dosage forms are discussed. Novel dosage forms of higher generations are presented as well.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • apply physical-chemical backgrounds in drug formulation
  • evaluate the pros and cons of the particular dosage forms in concrete cases, including manufacturing
  • understand issues of selection of appropriate excipients; know their classification and utilization
  • independently solve model case studies on drug formulation and stability
