The course is divided into two basic blocks. Within the first block, students will deal with the importance of alternative fuels and the reasons for their implementation among automotive fuels in transport. Also, relevant legislation, EU policy on alternative fuels and current and potential future trends for alternative fuels in transport will be discussed. The second block will focus on the characteristics of the current alternative fuels, their production, their fuel properties and their advantages/disadvantages associated with their use in transport.

Předmět je rozdělen do dvou základních bloků. V rámci prvního bloku se budou studenti zabývat významem alternativních paliv a důvody jejich zavedení mezi automobilová paliva v dopravě. Dále se bude probírat příslušná legislativa, politika EU ve vztahu k alternativním palivům a současné a předpokládané budoucí trendy ohledně alternativních paliv v dopravě. Druhý blok bude zaměřen na charakteristiku jednotlivých současných alternativních paliv, jejich výrobu, palivářské vlastnosti a výhody/nevýhody spojené s jejich využitím v dopravě.

After completion of the course, student will easily orientate in the problematics of alternative transportation fuels. Students will become acquainted in detail with the rationale for the implementation of alternative fuels as automotive fuels in transport, their manufacturing processes, their properties (advantages and disadvantages), the EU strategy on alternative fuels and the current and prospective trends related to their production.

Po absolvování kurzu se budou studenti snadno orientovat v problematice alternativních paliv v dopravě. Studenti budou detailně znát důvody zavedení alternativních paliv mezi automobilová paliva, postupy jejich výroby, jejich vlastnosti (výhody a nevýhody), strategii EU ohledně alternativních paliv a současné a výhledové trendy jejich výroby.
