The course is taught in Czech only.
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the theoretical and practical foundations of photography, post-production, and audiovisual creation, while developing their ability to create visual messages intentionally. The course is taught in a seminar format and combines theoretical instruction with practical photography and audiovisual assignments. Students will learn the fundamentals of camera operation, exposure, depth of field, focal length, composition, and lighting. They will gain hands-on experience with studio, product, portrait, and documentary photography, as well as basic post-production techniques and short video production. Assignments completed throughout the semester will be reviewed and discussed in class and presented during the final session.

Course Syllabus
Each session consists of four teaching hours.
Camera Technique: Introduction to photography, camera operation, exposure, white balance, and depth of field. Practical assignment focusing on depth of field and frozen motion. Post-production: Basic editing processes, colour management, exporting, publishing, and archiving photographs. Ongoing editing of course assignments. Studio Photography: Still life, composition, dynamic range, and visual communication. Still-life and product photography assignment. Portrait Photography: Composition, focal length, lighting equipment, lighting techniques, and communication with the subject. Portrait assignment in four variations. Documentary and Reportage Photography: Visual storytelling, composition of a photographic series, and event photography. Reportage consisting of 7 to 12 images submitted as a PDF series. Video Production: Basic video principles, equipment, script development, filming, and post-production. A short video of up to 60 seconds created in pairs, including B-roll footage. Final Presentation: Individual presentation of selected, fully edited photographs and video, lasting no more than six minutes, followed by questions from the instructors. Po absolvování předmětu student dokáže:
samostatně ovládat fotoaparát a volit nastavení expozice, vyvážení bílé a hloubky ostrosti podle zamýšleného výsledku, využívat kompozici, ohniskovou vzdálenost a přirozené i umělé světlo při tvorbě zátiší, produktové, portrétní a reportážní fotografie, sestavit fotografickou sérii, která uceleně a srozumitelně zachycuje vybranou událost, naplánovat, natočit a zpracovat krátké video včetně doplňkových záběrů, provádět základní postprodukční úpravy fotografií a připravit výsledné soubory k prezentaci nebo publikování, používat základní fotografickou a audiovizuální terminologii, rozpoznat běžné technické a kompoziční nedostatky a navrhnout jejich řešení, představit vlastní tvorbu, vysvětlit svůj autorský záměr a reagovat na odbornou zpětnou vazbu. Předchozí znalosti fotografie ani zkušenosti s fotografickou tvorbou nejsou vyžadovány. Student musí mít k dispozici digitální fotoaparát umožňující manuální nastavení základních expozičních parametrů, paměťovou kartu a notebook s nainstalovaným programem pro postprodukci fotografií.
