The course is designed for beginners, therefore it is focused on very basic communication in everyday life situations. The aim is to achieve A1 level according to CERF (Common European Reference Framework).

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

  • provide their basic personal information, such as name, nationality, residence, occupation
  • fill in a simple form
  • discuss their hobbies, families and travel in simple terms
  • express agreement and disagreement with suggestions or opinions
  • buy food and clothes

Syllabus -

1. The alphabet. Numbers 1 - 10. Definite article. Hobbies. Present tense of the verb "ser".

2. Names of Spanish speaking countries. Gender and number compliance. Numbers 11 - 19.

3. To ask for and give inofrmation about people - name, age, nationality, status, hobbies, job, character. Present tense of regular verbs. Adjectives, numbers 20 - 100.

4. Family. Possessive pronouns.

5. To express likes and dislikes. Travel and holiday. Means of transport. Seasons of the year. Months.

6. Places and services. How to use the verbs "ser", "estar" and "haber".

7. Shopping, products, shops and prices. Numbers from 100. The verb "tener". Obligation - "tener que" + infinitive. Demonstrative pronouns.

8. Clothes. Colours. Gifts.

9. Indefinite article. Direct and indirect object pronouns.

10. Health-related habits. Frequency. Days of the week. Reflexive verbs.

11. Quantification. Human body. Instructions.

12. Recommendations. Gendre of nouns.

13. Life style.

14. Grammar and vocabulary revision.
