The subject is focused on physical-chemical and thermodynamic assay of pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical processes used in the production of metals from ore and waste material. Practical utilization is currently demonstrated on diagrams of non-ferrous production and waste treatment.

Function, composition and structure of metallurgical slags. 8. Principles of hydrometallurgical production of metals, thermodynamics of leaching, E-pH diagrams. 9. Kinetics of leaching processes, electrochemical and bacterial leaching. 10. Hydrometallurgical processes under elevated pressures, leaching methods and apparatus. 11. Refining of leachates: precipitation, cementation, sorption, liquid extraction, ion exchange. 12. Precipitation and crystallization of metals from solutions. 13.
