This one week course in English will cover current trends in drug discovery, namely biological models of diseases (isolated proteins, cell cultures, animal models etc.), target finding, advantages and disadvantages of specific drugs vs. drugs with a rich pharmacology and other topics. These topics will be illustrated on case studies (e.g. COX inhibitors, CETP inhibitors, proton pump inhibitors and others).
