The course is of experimental nature, within which students continue experimental work initiated in the course Biotechnology and Food Science - Laboratory Project I. They deepen their theoretical knowledge in a defined area, or they acquire other methodologies associated with the specified topic. Students continue with systematic experimental work and they participate in the direction of research activities and the strategies to address them. During the work, students will deepen their knowledge of methodologies for the collection and processing of experimental data, they will learn to evaluate it by appropriate ways and to compare it with the published literature and to defend them in the form of presentation and discussion.

In this course, separate experimental topics are announces by the supervisors from the Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology. Students will be acquainted with modern laboratory techniques, namely in the following fields: microbiology, biochemistry, immunochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cell physiology, bioengineering, biotechnology etc. An integral part of the course is the work with original scientific literature, planning and execution of experiments, methods of data processing and presentation of results. Student will evaluate the results and compared with available data in the literature. The output of the course will be presented in the form of a oral presentation. Students will be able to:
Independently plan and conduct laboratory experiments in the full range of available methodologies designated for an individual subject.
Closely analyze and evaluate experimental data, process it in the form of scientific publications providing them with precise literary sources.
