Annotation -
The course is focused on principles of operation of unit operations employed in pharmaceutical industry in solid dosage form manufacturing. The course require the student to have the general understanding of the typical equipment used for processing the dispersion systems comprising the particulate solids, such as hoppers, classification or separation systems, blenders, mills, granulators, compactors or tablet presses. The course will extend this general knowledge by the detailed explanation of the physical aspects of the particulate solid processing in the equipment above, and methods of design and optimization thereof. Students will get the insight into the mechanisms and principles at the level required for mathematical modeling such systems.
