Syllabus -

Introduction consists of description of basic characteristics of analytical matrix and factors

affecting its profile. Methods of thermodynamic variables determining its profile are included.

Next part deals with instrumentation for sampling of gaseous mixtures and particle matter including

selection of measuring/sampling plane, positioning of sampling/measuring points, and flow rate of

flowing gas measuring methods.

Third part is focused onto offline and online metods for analytical matrix major components

determination with particular attention paid to the use of spectroscopic methods for gaseous

mixtures analysis.

Fourth most extenxive part is made up of description various online and offline methods for

determination of inorganic analytes, volatile organic compounds and mass concentration of particles.

Fifth part reports offline methods for analysis of toxic metals and persistent organic pollutants

related to particle matter.

Engineering calculus is an independent part focused onto mass concentration, mass flow, and specific

emission rate calculation.

Final part deals with remote sensing of ambient air pollutants and the use of bioindicators.
