The subject describes technologies of drug formulation. Particular drug forms are presented from the biological and physical-chemical point of view. Among others, the selection of excipients, drug formulation, quality and stability of dosage forms are discussed.

2. Unit operations in drug manufacturing.

3. Biopharmaceutics.

4. Pharmaceutical excipients.

5. Oral administration I.: fluid dosage forms, powder dosage forms.

6. Oral administration II.: granules, capsules, tablets.

7. Parenteral administration I.: classification, injections.

8. Parenteral administration II.: infusions, implants and others.

9. Topical administration: dermal and transdermal fluid preparations.

10. Topical administration: dermal and transdermal semisolid preparations.

11. Dosage forms into the respiratory tract.

12. Ocular and auricular dosage forms.

13. Rectal, uretral and vaginal dosage forms.

14. Pharmaceutical packaging. Stability of pharmaceutical preparations.

  • evaluate the pros and cons of the particular dosage forms in concrete cases, including manufacturing
  • understand issues of selection of appropriate excipients; know their classification and utilization
  • define the main issues of drug formulation and stability and their solving.
