Annotation -
The course builds on Organic technology and discusses the basic categories of fine chemicals: surfactants, dyes, biologically active agents, fragrance and taste agents, auxiliaries for polymers, etc. Students will learn the application of chemistry in various fields of human activity, the principles of action of a large variety of final chemical products, and to establish their syntheses.

1. Introduction to the subject. Basic relationships. General characteristics of surfactants.

2. Types of anionic surfactants, salts of carboxylic acids, sulfates.

3. Surfactants based on sulfonates and organic phosphates.

4. Nonionic surfactants. Cationic surfactants.

5. Amphoteric surfactants. Ecological aspects in surfactants production and application.

6. Basic types of dyes and pigments, ecological aspects in dyes production.

7. Azodyes, disazodyes, polyazodyes.

8. Anthraquinonic, indigoic and pthalocyaninoic types of dyes.

9. Biologicaly active compounds. Basic types of pharmaceuticals.

10. Pesticides and others agrochemicals. Insecticides. Rodenticides.

11. Fungicides. Herbicides. Ecological aspects of agrochemicals application.

12. Flavors and fragrances. Basic types of monomers.

13. Aditives for polymers.

14. Aditives for plastic materials and rubbers.
