Annotation -
The course should give students overview of all needed skills and technologies involved in creating and operating modern web presentation. These comprise of markup languages XML and HTML5, their formal description in DTD, technologies for their visual and dynamic presentation (CSS, ECMAScript, DOM) and also some needed soft-skills like human resource maintenance, accessibility and problem of copyright.

Learning outcomes -

Students will be able to:

Understand the difference between data and metadata, the role of semantics in textual data.

Understand and master the basics of XML, its structure definition (DTD) and formatting (CSS).

Thoroughly explore elements of HTML5 language (with special focus on state-of-the-art technologies).

Understand basic web-page programming techniques using JavaScript, based on object representation manipulation (DOM).
