The applications of methods used for water and wastewater analysis in laboratory are discussed in this course. The choice of methods is based on routine analytical practice. Students become acquainted with steps of analytical procedures, interferences, methods of sample pre-treatment, calculations and interpretation of results.

For continuous checking of the student’s activity and understanding of the problems discussed in the first part of semester the continuing written test during semester is included. The test is written at the time of the lecture (50 min). The final test is written in the 14th week of the semester (50 min) and there are three other dates for resit examination during the exam period. The minimum score in each test is 50 points out of a maximum of 100. That means that the minimum average score obtained from both tests is 50 points. Both tests include the complete session’s topics, including the calculations. The tests must be written exclusively on papers provided by the teacher.
In the case of a late student arrival, it is possible to write the test but without the compensation of the missed time. In the case of excused absence from the intermediate or final test (or both) the test may be written in the date of resitting given by the SIS during the examination period. Such a date is considered as regular, but it is necessary to register yourself using the SIS. The student has a maximum of one regular term (i.e. the minimum reached average score of both tests of 50 points) and a maximum of two resit ones. When a student does not sign out in time by SIS and does not attend, the date is classified as F. Last update: Smrčková Štěpánka (18.07.2019)
