Annotation -
The course is of experimental nature, within which students continue experimental work initiated in the course Laboratory of Biotechnology I. They deepen their theoretical knowledge in a defined area, or they acquire other methodologies associated with the specified topic. Students continue with systematic experimental work and they participate in the direction of research activities and the strategies to address them. During the work, students will deepen their knowledge of methodologies for the collection and processing of experimental data, they will learn to evaluate it by appropriate ways and to compare it with the published literature and to develop a research report to the structure of scientific articles.

Syllabus -

Laboratory II is based on separate topics announced by educators. Processing these topics, students will learn advanced laboratory techniques particularly in the following fields: Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Physiology, Bioengineering and others. Students will use the experiences gained in the course of Laboratory of Biotechnology I. Students will deepen the theoretical knowledge in the area bounded by topic and they join this knowledge into a broader context. At the beginning of the experimental work, students draw up a systematic plan of work and use it for their laboratory experiments. They process, evaluate and compare the experimental results with the data available in the literature. Based on these results, they prepare a report in the form of scientific publication with the usual structure. Processing text, students should meet the requirements for the structure of the text and formats of image and literary sources. To finish the work, students prepare a presentation that will be presented and defended before expert committee composed of teachers.
