Annotation -
The aim of the course is to teach students the basics of human pathology: definition and main causes of diseases, basic pathologic processes, structure, function and disorders of main human organ systems, classification of main nosological entities, principle methods of investigation in pathology.

Syllabus -

1.Regressive tissue changes; Death and post mortem changes; Autolysis, necrosis. Necropsy, biopsy.

2.Atrophy. Dystrophy: metabolic disorders.

3.Progressive tissue changes: Hypertrophy, Hyperplasia, Metaplasia- dysplasia, Regeneration, Reparation.

4.Non specific inflammation- sepsis, septic shock.

5.Specific inflammation- TBC, syphilis, infectious diseases.

6.Tumors.

7.Blood disorders, Spleen and lymphatic disorders.

8.Thrombosis and embolism- circulatory failure- cardiac failure.

9.Heart and blood vessel disorders.

10.Respiratory disorders.

11.Gastrointestinal disorders.

12.Urogenital disorders.

13.Disorders of the central nervous system, Musculoskeletal disorders.

14.Pathology of the neonate.
