Annotation -
The course is focused on understanding the basics of safety at work (not only) in the chemical industry. That inappropriate change process at work can lead to an accident with serious consequences. They should know that some values do not need to be calculated exactly. Even approximate result is often sufficient, showing whether or not ther is any sanger. This course does not turn the students in experts, but it provides them with basic knowledge and makes them aware that any change to production mana gement needs to be considered carefully, taking into account all aspects.

Course completion requirements -

Students must have both parts of two written tests at least 50%, and successfully complete the oral examination.

Both parts of the two tests can be write many times.

Students obtain some values of constants and all formulas with explanations of individual members, for the numerical parts of test.

Learning outcomes -

Students will be able to:

Calculate if and what is risk during accident in a chemical factory.

Proper procedures and how (before the crash) estimate (approximately calculate) the consequences (which residents will be evacuated).

Evaluate the risks of storing and processing of flammable substances.

Calculate what must be ventilation rate when working with toxic substances and will know what to do with the outgoing gas.
