Annotation -
The course provides basic overview of geographical data processing and interdisciplinary use of the geographical information systems. In the practical part of the course the emphasis is mainly on the use of the ArcGIS (including ArcGIS 3D Analyst) and Global Mapper software.

4. Acquisition of geographical data, digitisation, scanning, vectorisation, aerial and satellite photography, Internet

5. Editing of geographical data, spatial transformations

6. Map creation, linking database tables to map features

7. Advanced mapping techniques

8. 3D geographical data (ArcGIS 3D Analyst) - creating a 3D terrain model, surface analysis

9. 3D geographical data (ArcGIS 3D Analyst) - 3D objects, 3D visualisation

10. Integrated GIS data management using Global Mapper

11. Global Mapper - GIS data processing, transformation and analysis

12. Interdisciplinary application of GIS, visualisation and analysis of specific data types, modelling
