Annotation -
The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the methods, forms, means and objectives of teaching chemistry. Attention is paid to their own observations and experiments. Students are presented to modern educational theory and practice, are acquainted with modern technologies and their use in education. Last but not least, the content of the course is the problem of curricular documents and the position of the chemistry in them.

1.The education system in the Czech Republic.Framework educational programs for secondary school and elementary school.

2.The formation and development of key competencies in the field of chemical knowledge.

3.Competence for learning, working, problem solving, communication, social and civil.

4 Making the school curriculum. The curriculum of the chemical subject. Legislation.

5.Structuring schoolwork.Succession of logical sequence of concepts and alternative procedures. Educational projects abroad.

6.Theoretical and empirical approaches to teaching chemistry.

7.School chemistry experiment. Comparison of scientific and academic experiment.

8.The use of information and communication technologies in teaching chemistry.

9.Learning tasks. Educational and psychological aspects of learning tasks, their structure and content.

10.Teaching chemistry test. Self-evaluation of teachers and pupils. International research knowledge.

11.Evaluation and selection of text book.Structure, functions and features of chemistry textbooks. Learning from text.

12.Troubled school, its aims, structure and organization. Problem tasks and experiments.

13.Interdisciplinary relation.Continuity of teaching chemistry not only on scientific specialization.
