This course is designed to provide the fundamentals of fluid - solid surfaces phenomena, including detailed discussion of the experimental characterisation techniques used both for structural and chemical properties of solid surfaces. Adsorption, catalytic activation and flow phenomena in porous structures are discussed. Specific applications to catalytic engineering, electrochemistry, and material sciences are investigated.
