Annotation -
The course thematically expands the course "Engineering of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Processes”. The course is focused on chemical kinetics, mass balance in ideal types of chemical reactors and processing of experimental kinetic data from homogeneous and selected heterogeneous reaction systems. Furthermore, attention is paid to transfer phenomena in fluids at phase interfaces. In addition to mass transfer, heat transfer and the interaction of these phenomena are also discussed to a limited extent. Porous media and capillary phenomena are also included in the scope of the subject.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

1. Formulate kinetic equations according to the assumed mechanism of chemical reactions and process kinetic data from ideal types of chemical reactors;

2. Orientation in the issue of physical and chemical processes associated with the transport of mass and heat and with pharmaceutical applications;

3. Qualitatively estimate the flow of mass and heat through phase interfaces and membranes.
