Annotation -
The semestral course presents the basic mathematics needed to understand financial transactions and investments. At the same time, it opens the door to understanding of basic notions in the world of finance and prepares for dealing with financial decisions and investments. As a prerequisite, students should have a one-semester Calculus course. This course is intended also for students majoring in non-economic fields.

Students will be able to:

  • -use mathematical methods and derive formulas for financial calculations
  • -know the nature of financial transactions and investments
  • -orientate themselves in financial decision making
  • -govern the financial functions in Excel when solving financial problems.
