Annotation -
The subject is aimed of teaching design procedures of mass transfer equipment such as absorption columns, distillation columns, liquid-liquid extractors, fermenters or cooling towers. The students test their skills on real-world problems using a synthesis of knowledge from preceding subjects (unit operations, transport phenomena, engineering thermodynamics).

Aim of the course -

Students will gain experience in:

  • modeling of basic types of industrial separation units
  • obtaining key parameters and data for these models (equilibrium, hydraulic, transport data)
  • analyzing operation of real units based on process data
