Course completion requirements

The course is completed with an exam. To pass the exam successfully, it is necessary to achieve at least 50% of the points in accordance with ECTS.

Points for the exam are awarded based on:

A) completing assignments during the semester (max. 50 points = 50%),

B) passing the final test (max. 50 points = 50%).

*Completing assignments during the semester:**
Active participation in ongoing testing (usually simple closed questions/statements of true/false type):

participation 90–100%: 50 points
participation 80–89%: 40 points
participation 70–79%: 30 points
participation 60–69%: 20 points
participation 50–59%: 10 points
participation <50%: 0 points

*Final test:**
The final test takes place in-person or (depending on attendance at lectures) on-line in the MOODLE. It consists of 25 questions randomly selected by the system from its database. Passing the final test is mandatory for all students.

success rate 90–100%: 50 points
success rate 80–89%: 40 points
success rate 70–79%: 30 points
success rate 60–69%: 20 points
success rate 50–59%: 10 points
success rate <50%: 0 points

The final point score is the sum of points from completing assignments during the semester and points earned from the final test. The student classification is as follows:

D: 69–60 points
E: 59–50 points

Points for the exam can also be earned based on the best result in completing assignments (5 points).

03. Transmission over metallic transmission paths – xDSL.

04. PSTN. Various types of backbone and access networks, current status and future development.

05. Optical networks, topology, usage possibilities, and advantages of optical fibers.

06. Cellular mobile networks, main technologies used, basic principles, and key parameters.

07. Satellite communication, basic principles, applications, and technologies.

08. IPTV technology platform.

09. WiFi networks and their applications.

10. Modulation. Efficient use of transmission channels, CDMA.
