Annotation -
The subject gives a survey of metallic materials which are used in technical practice at present. In the first part, the structure of metals and alloys and the most important mechanical properties of metallic materials are described. A large chapter is devoted to ferrous alloys, i.e. steels and cast irons. Important non-ferrous metals and their alloys are also described.
