Annotation -
The subject deals with the history of production, treatment and utilization of metals, used by mankind for very long time: gold, silver, copper and its alloys, tin, lead and iron. The development of basic production technologies: metals casting, metals shaping and heat treatment is presented too.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

evaluate the structure of metallic materials used for manufacturing of restored objects.

distinguish not original parts of restored objects or modern fakes.

in most cases autenticate the dating of restored objects.
