1. Introduction to corrosion and lifespan of structural materials

2. Steels as main structural materials, Fe-C diagram, steel phases, steel types, steels for fossil-fuelled and nuclear power and for fuel industry

3. Corrosion principles, kinetic and thermodynamic aspects, passive-active state, potential-pH diagrams

4. Types of corrosion of metallic materials

5. Corrosion and degradation of non-metallic materials, plastic, glass, concrete, wood.

6. Electrochemical principle of corrosion in water. Corrosion in gases and flue gases.

7. Main forms of corrosion under stress and temperature (corrosion cracking, corrosion fatigue, creep). Methods of evaluation of mechanic properties of materials.

8. Materials for advanced energy systems and their degradation

9. Methods of corrosion testing and monitoring

10. Corrosion in power cycles, corrosion in spent fuel depository
