Annotation
The subject covers the technological processes for the production of glass, ceramics and inorganic binders. The physicochemical bases of these processes and the relationships between structure and properties of these materials are discussed. The subject deepens the application and theoretical knowledge students gained in the courses Introduction to the study of materials and Inorganic non-metallic materials.

Aim of the course

Students will be able to:

Discuss the relationships among structure, properties and applications of inorganic non-metallic materials.

Describe the technological processes for the production of glass, ceramics and inorganic binders.

Explain the physical and chemical processes occurring during the production of these materials.

Apply the results of characterization methods of inorganic non-metallic materials in relation to processes for their production and degradation.
