Annotation -
The course is designed to increase students´ awareness of key elements of social competencies and improve the way they relate to others in order to work more effectively. A participatory method is used. The students are encouraged to think and reflect on different behaviours and to understand their impact, to set personal goals, draw on their work and study experience, and share their opinions in pair or team discussions. Classwork comprises individual/pair/team preparation and home study. Besides practical exercises, games and role-plays, the students analyze a case study from the social competencies’ perspective, create their own personal development plan, read and summarize a specialized text on a social competencies’ topic, and present on a related topic of their choice. Developing communicative skills in English is also included.
