Annotation -
The course focuses on the technological principles of drinking water treatment, ranging from historical contexts to modern technological trends within the current legislative framework. The course provides a detailed analysis of groundwater treatment methods, particularly iron and manganese removal and water stabilization processes, including the removal of radionuclides. For surface water sources, emphasis is placed on coagulation, mixing, and the effective separation of suspensions through sedimentation, flotation, and filtration. Students will also be introduced to advanced techniques such as membrane technologies, activated carbon sorption, and others. The course also covers issues related to water hygiene and sludge management for the treatment of generated solid waste. The aim of the course is to understand the process logic of the design and operation of water treatment plants in accordance with the principles of sustainable water management. The entire thematic unit thus combines the theoretical foundations of hydrochemistry with the practical application of modern engineering solutions.

Succesful passing the written and verbal exam

Possibility of improving grades B - E:

  • by an exam in the remedial term
  • by prior agreement, because SIS allows registration for the next term only with an F result
