Annotation -
The course focuses on the development of detailed technical review on the topic that is usually related to the diploma thesis. In this course, students deepen their knowledge in the use of secondary literature sources. They learn to process the information from the sources separately, to structure it into suitable chapters and to evaluate it in a broader context. Processing review, students should meet the requirements for the structure of the text and formats of image and literary sources.

Course completion requirements -

Independent review work on a chosen topic, resulting in a text in the format of a review article. Consultations are provided individually based on an agreement with the thesis supervisor or consultant.

An integral part of the teaching is e-learning material providing a detailed description of the review paper and its defense.

Requirements to the exam -

The grade is based on the submission of a research paper in the form of a review article. The final grade is determined by the supervisor's assessment based on the evaluation of the submitted review paper (weight 100%).

Syllabus -

The student’s Semestral work on an assigned topic begins by searching for relevant literature sources using all available databases. Students extract information related to their search topic from these sources. Students establish appropriate structure for the review article and fill it with factualism found in the literature. Students evaluate results of research in detail in their review and formulate conclusions in a sufficiently broad context. Students cite sources correctly and they create list of references at the end of their work. The outcome of working with literature will be a review article with adequate scale and meeting all formal requirements.

Learning outcomes -

After completing this course, students will be able to search for primary and secondary sources of information using all available databases of scientific literature, analyze and evaluate information in a broad context coming from scientific and professional articles, review articles and patent literature, and structure information from professional literature and process it in the form of a professional text with accurate literary sources.
