Annotation
The course is focused on Investment decision-making process with accent to circular economy project initialisation, preparation and implementation. Detailed approach to Project phases will be applied with demonstration of practical cases: scouting study, opportunity study, feasibility study, basic design and detailed engineering design. Particular attention will be paid to the assessment of project economics demonstrating selected business cases. Project schedule management and Cash Flow modelling will be presented together with Project Post-implementation Review.

Aim of the course

Students will be taught techniques used in project management, based primarily on project valuation, planning, budgeting. They will be capable of project decision-making.

1. Investment decision-making – introduction (project life phases, projects cathegorisation) – 4 hours

2. Pre-Investment project phase (practical cases: scouting study, opportunity study, feasibility study) – 4 hours

3. Assessment of project economics (static and dynamic model calculation, business cases: Biomates Economic Assessement, Green Hydrogen production) – 4 hours

4. Project schedule management (PERT diagram/MS Project presentation), Cash Flow modelling – 4 hours

5. Engineering, Procurement and Construction phase (Project Budgeting and Contracting) – 4 hours

6. Project Post-implementation Review – 4 hours

7. Investment decision making – conclusions (focused on circular economy) – 4 hours
