Annotation -
The objective of the course is to acquaint students with the basic approaches to environmental management and its importance for business management. Emphasis is placed on the basic standards and recommendations in the field of environmental management systems and process of implementation of environmental management systems according to ISO standards series 14000 and EMAS. Attention is also given to other tools used by business for management of the impacts of their activities, products and services on the environment, interdependencies of environmental management, quality management and management of health and safety and their integration.

Aim of the course -

Students will be able to:

assess the importance of environmental aspect and impact management for business success

understand the basic principles, advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of voluntary environmental protection tools into practice

understand the basic principles and procedures for the implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems

realize the relationships between the environmental management systems, the quality management systems as well as the health and safety management systems
